The Creative Arts Studio’s clay room features state-of-the-art potter’s wheels where you can learn the art of wheel throwing. Experience the satisfaction of transforming
your project from mud to masterpiece. You can rent a potter’s wheel
by the hour or take a workshop.
Studio Rules
Potter’s wheels are motorized equipment.
To maintain the quality of firings and prevent kiln ‘accidents’
the Creative Arts Studio will fire only clay purchased and worked on in
our studio.
Hourly Rentals
$25 includes 1.5 hours at one of our potter’s wheels or wedging table,
2.5 pounds of clay and the bisque (cone 04) firing. Regular studio fees
will apply for painting, glazing and the second (cone 06) firing.
Intro to Wheel Throwing (Wheel Throwing 101) Class
Adults (ages 11+):
Our six week workshops will introduce students to the wonderful world of clay. Learning basic wheel-throwing skills will be the focus of this workshop. Students will also get a chance to use slump and hump molds to create a hand-building with clay project. During the final class, students will learn how to use different glazes to decorate their creations.

5% discount for returning wheel throwing students.
Includes instruction, 20lbs of clay, the bisque firings, and unlimited use of the wheels during the 6 week time period. Students will be charged for the glaze firings based on the size of their pots. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required (which will be applied to the cost of the class). If you can’t make all 6 weeks in a row, that’s O.K because we offer makeup sessions.
Kids, who are 10+ years may take this class with an adult.
Cost is $150 with a 5% friend/family discount.

Note: All students of the adult wheel throwing sessions will receive discounted walk-in wheel throwing rates once their 6 week session ends. Former students will pay only $10 plus $2 per pound of clay to throw on the wheel. The $10 is a daily fee. Bisque and glaze firing charges will also be appliled based on the size of the pieces thrown. Normally it costs $25 for 1.5 hours on the wheel, 2.5 pounds of clay, and the bisque firing.

Private or Semi-Private Wheel-Throwing Instruction
The Creative Arts Studio offers expert instruction in wheel-throwing and
hand-building techniques. Classes include 2.5 pounds of clay and the bisque
(cone 04) firing. Normal studio fees apply for painting, glazing, and the second (cone 06) firing.
Private lesson-$55 per hour
Semi-Private lesson-$65 per hour
Private Group (3 persons) – $75 per hour
Private Group (4 persons) – $85 per hour.
Note: After the first person at $55, every person after that costs $10
